This is Ruby - My Mustang
and Martha
Josey on her gelding.
This was the first time I have ever met Mrs. Josey
but she is an amazing person with a wonderful personality that will
have you laughing and will leave you with life changing impressions.
"A girls got to do what a girls got to do!" |

This is Ruby's stall
I made a book about Ruby that I gave to her new owners.
I also had an assortment of pictures of the other
3 mustangs and of course upcoming event flyers. |

Buddy and Alice
Buddy is wearing the shirt they gave us. It
has the event sponsor on the shirt and identifies us as trainers. |
 |
This is the back of the arena...
All the horses in these pictures are mustangs.
On the left you have Barry with Ms. Priss
and
Michelle with Faith
By the way Barry has changed Ms. Priss's name to
Karma |

These are pictures of Ruby and I after the sell...
It was such a sad feeling to know that it was my last time to ride
her.
Comforted by the fact that she was going to a good
home.
With luck I will be able to see her this summer
and with her new owners consent I will be able to ride her again.
I forgot to tell you all... Prior to the sell I
was warming Ruby up in the arena. A potential buyer came over
to the fence to talk to me. Ruby was really not wanting to
stand still. After 3 days of a stall I could not blame
her. She would try to go left and would block her, then she
would try to go right and I would block her. We weaved back
and forth for a few mins and all at once she lunged through the
wooden fence. She never lost composure as she busted the top
board. The wood breaking was like a gun shot! She paused
only slightly when her front feet made contact with the ground and
then bought her hind feet over the fence. She was spooked nor
upset...
The only thing I can figure is that since I would not let her go
left or right forward was the only option and as Buddy told me I
have ridden Ruby through everything imaginable she never doubted her
ability to do it. |

The pictures below are of the in hand competition |
 |
Back up |
 |
We had to make the L with the mares while backing
up
and not stepping out of the lines. |
 |
Trot over logs |
 |
Pick up all four feet |
 |
turn in the box to the right and then to the left |
 |
|
 |
trot through the cones |
 |
and out of the arena.
This was the first part of the competition and
Ruby
was favoring her hind right foot. The judges
called it in the arena.
|
 |
This is her trotting over the logs in the
beginning part of the course.
She did not want to pick up the trot over the logs
When we got to the speaker system Ruby came to a
stand still and would not go forward. Considering all the spectators
in the stands, banners on the walls I felt that she did well. |
